Ms. Cimera currently assists in the representation of clients in single-plaintiff, collective and class action lawsuits for failure to pay proper wages, overtime and commissions. Ms. Cimera also assists in the representation of individuals in a wide variety of labor and employment related litigation, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, failure to accommodate disabilities, family and medical leave violations, and breach of contract.
Prior to joining Fitapelli & Schaffer, LLP, Ms. Cimera interned for the Honorable Gerald Lebovits at the New York County Civil Court. Ms. Cimera also served as research assistant to Professor Edward Purcell.
Ms. Cimera received her undergraduate degree in Finance from Rutgers University Business School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She earned her Juris Doctor at New York Law School in New York City. Ms. Cimera was a recipient of the New York Law School’s Public Service Certificate, recognizing her commitment to working in the public interest. While earning her degree, she was an active member of the Center for Business and Financial Law.
Ms. Cimera is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey and she is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) of New York.
